Bravera Bank
Just like Thing 1 and
Thing 2...
Thing 1 and Thing 2 are known for sticking together, and the same goes for West Fargo Consumer/Home Equity Lending Officer Parker Seelig and Fargo Treasury Solutions Consultant Katelyn Ask. You’ll always find them side by side, working as a true team to better serve our customers.
How long have you worked together?
Parker: Katelyn and I have worked together for almost six years. We both started as part-time tellers, moved into customer service reps, and then transitioned into our current departments. Katelyn was my trainer on the teller line and in customer service for three years.
Katelyn: Parker and I have worked together for almost six years. I started at the bank two years before her, but we were both part-time tellers when she started. We then transitioned into customer service roles at the south location for three years. In 2024, we both transitioned into different areas of the bank and since merging with Bravera, I work with the digital department and Parker works with the lending department.
Why did you choose ‘Thing 1 and Thing 2’ as your pairing?
Parker: Thing 1 and Thing 2 are known as a dynamic duo and are inseparable companions. That’s what Katelyn and I are at Bravera Bank and have been for the past five years! We both love to tackle projects together or whatever the situation may be. Thing 1 and Thing 2 are also known to symbolize fun and high energy. We love to create an atmosphere where clients and coworkers can have fun while getting the job done!
Katelyn: We chose Thing 1 and Thing 2 because for lack of better words, we were inseparable for the better part of three years when we worked so closely together. Parker can bring out the goofy side of me; she can bring out the serious side of me. We know how to lift each other up and strive to bring fun energy every day!
How does working together help you better serve customers?
Parker: We love working together as a team with our broad knowledge from past and current positions to meet the needs of every client we interact with. With both of us in different departments, but still close coworkers and friends, we are able to answer almost any question our clients may have. We are strong at explaining different policies and procedures to one another in a way we both comprehend and can relay to clients if needed, especially while in different departments.
Katelyn: Because we worked so closely for so long and I trained Parker in the customer service role, we developed similar problem-solving skills. We regularly bounced ideas off each other and helped each other out as much as we possibly could. Now that I am in digital and Parker is in lending, but we both have knowledge in different areas that we can share. If Parker has any digital questions, I am her go-to!
What have you learned from each other?
Parker: I have learned that we love to make work a fun and enjoyable experience for both our customers and coworkers. We spend a lot of time together and enjoy the process while ensuring that we get the job done! Even on the days where one of us may not have been 100%, we could always count on each other to lighten the mood. Katelyn has always been an individual who pays attention to the fine details in whatever work we might be completing. I feel as though that trait was passed down to me which allows me to solve problems and issues in one go.
Katelyn: While dealing with clients and their finances can be stressful and challenging at times, Parker and I always found ways to bring positive energy to challenging situations. We sat in the lobby at the Fargo South location together and always found ways to make the workday fun. The workday never felt long because I always had Parker there with me!
What makes Bravera a great partner for customers?
Parker: Bravera is a great partner for customers because we focus on strengthening our relationships with our customers. Few banks greet clients by name or take time to not only conduct their banking needs but also build that relationship and trust that customers need in today’s world. Bravera also offers many products and services that were not previously available, such as Wealth Management and Insurance. A one-stop-shop for all!
Katelyn: What makes Bravera a great partner for customers is the fact that every relationship is personal. We know our clients by their names, always giving them a warm welcome when they walk through any of our locations. Since merging with Bravera, the Fargo markets can now offer even more services to our clients – whether its wealth or insurance our clients can now meet all of those needs in one place.
What do you do for fun at work?
Parker: I love to be friends with my coworkers and get to know them better. This allows me to feel comfortable and confident with the people I am working with. This provides a strong foundation for anything that may come up in the future. Katelyn and I have been best friends from the beginning! I believe this relationship allowed me to push for these strong relationships with other coworkers and make work fun.
Katelyn: I like to socialize with my coworkers and get to know them on a personal level as well. For Parker and me, it was so easy and natural to get along. Right when she started, we hit it off and I knew she would always be someone I could lean on, whether it's work help or personal guidance, I know I can always count on Parker. There are a handful of my coworkers in Fargo that I can count on! A fun work activity that the Fargo South location likes to do is play bean bags on Fridays, and we hope the tradition continues this summer!
What's your favorite thing about community?
Parker: My favorite thing about Fargo is all the fun events that the Fargo-Moorhead area offers. There are plenty of concerts, classes, and other activities that represent the friendliness the people in Fargo possess. Wherever you go, whatever event you attend, you can always count on a good crowd!
Katelyn: My favorite thing about the Fargo community is the atmosphere as a whole. As cheesy as that may sound, I absolutely love living in Fargo, even during the cold and windy days. For the most part, everyone is so kind and welcoming and I have always felt welcomed in the community and in any business setting.
