Similar to how a nutrition shake often accompanies an energizing tea, Devils Lake Mortgage Banking Officer Paula Halvorson and Relationship Banker Samantha Goeser keep each other balanced and energized. Together they make a great team for the Devils Lake community.
How long have you worked together?
Seven years.
What is the best part about working together?
Paula: We get along great, and we are always willing to help each other out. We like to head up other things together to do in the bank such as potlucks or decorating for the holidays to name a few.
Samantha: Seeing her smiling, spunky face each day and always supporting one another.
How does working together help you to better serve your customers?
Paula: When I originate a real estate loan and refer a deposit account, I know they are in good hands. We offer to help each other and making connections on a personal level also helps. When we are visiting with a customer and hear their financial needs, we are always thinking which option would be the best for our customers.
Samantha: We are a team! Having Paula as a backup and being able to use the same loan software I use, really has helped with my customers if I am out of office.
What do you do for fun at work?
Paula: We like to get shakes and teas! We (and our coworkers) decorate for the holidays together; we like to celebrate birthdays and holidays.
Samantha: We visit about our kids, decorate offices for birthdays and have treats in the afternoon once in awhile. Each month, we enjoy discussing the new energizing tea specials and picking out our favorites.
What have you learned from each other?
Paula: To be patient! That her position can be stressful, you can only do so much to help or please someone. I’ve learned that it takes a special someone to do her role!
Samantha: Never to give up! Paula has taught me so much in regards to our mortgage department and services. She is always willing to go above and beyond to help me and our customers!
