Bravera Bank

Intern Spotlight: Jaydan Kass

Jaydan joined Bravera Bank in September 2021 as a part-time relationship banker. He recently graduated from the University of Mary with a double major in Financial Services and Banking and Business. In January 2025, he transitioned into a rotational internship allowing him to work in various departments. In this role, Jaydan has gained valuable insights into the operations of each department.

What made you interested in an internship with Bravera?
I had completed an internship with the North Dakota State Auditor’s Office in the summer of 2024, which gave me a solid foundation in government financial operations. I've been working at Bravera since my freshman year of college, and as graduation approached, I needed to start seriously thinking about my future and where I wanted to grow. I already knew I wanted to stay with Bravera, but I wasn’t sure which department I wanted to pursue.
Why did you want to do a rotational internship rather than a department specific internship?
I chose a rotational internship because I wanted to explore multiple departments and gain a broader understanding of the bank as a whole. This approach gave me the chance to work with several teams, including digital banking, consumer loans, operations, wealth and retail management.

As a relationship banker, I already collaborate with many different departments, so this internship felt like a natural way to deepen my knowledge. It was also a great opportunity to see how various teams interact and support each other. I found it valuable to understand how each department contributes to the overall success of our customers, employees and the bank.

What was your favorite part of your internship?
My favorite part was definitely meeting and building relationships with colleagues I wouldn’t normally interact with. Many of them I had only known through phone calls or emails, so it was refreshing to meet in person and learn more about their roles.

It was fascinating to see what their day-to-day responsibilities look like and how interconnected their work is. I also appreciated making personal connections — now I know I have people across departments I can reach out to for advice or support.

What would you tell a student who is looking for an internship with Bravera?

My advice is to go for it. The best part about Bravera is that it feels like one big, supportive family. Everyone truly wants to see you succeed.

Come in with an open mind, be willing to learn, ask questions and follow up after your internship ends. Building relationships and understanding how the departments work together is a great experience — even if you decide one area isn’t the right fit. There’s always someone willing to help guide you in the right direction.
