Giving Center and Savings Center FAQ
How do I search for a new charity?
Log in to your online/mobile banking and navigate to the Giving Center. To search for a charity, select “Find Your Charity or Cause” search by charity name, city, or EIN, or choose from Bravera’s nonprofit partners. Select a charity and finalize the donation. (Searching by EIN is going to be the best practice).
How can I make a donation?
Donating to a new charity is easy in the Giving Center. You can send funds to over 1.5 million registered organizations in the United States or to one of Bravera’s nonprofit partners. You will also have the option to share your information with your selected charity or keep your donation anonymous. There are different ways to donate either being a one-time donation or a recurring donation. The minimum donation amount is $5.
How is my information shared with nonprofits?
During the donation process, you can choose whether to share your information or remain anonymous. Donor info is available to nonprofits partnered with Spiral Giving Network, but if you donate anonymously, your data won’t be shared.
Are donations processed immediately or is there a delay and is there confirmation or receipt sent after a donation is completed?
Donations aren’t sent to nonprofits right away. First, the funds go to our holding account (usually within 1–2 days), and then Spiral distributes them; typically, within 45 days. However, customers receive a tax receipt immediately after donating, so they have documentation right away.
Can I split my round-up to a savings goal and to a nonprofit?
Yes, you can split your round up and have a portion go to your savings goal and a portion go to a nonprofit of your choice.
If I pause round-ups, does it stop recurring transfers too?
No, pausing round-ups only affects the spare-change transactions. Recurring transfers remain active unless the customer chooses to pause or cancel those separately.
What happens when I reach my savings goal?
Once your goal balance reaches your target amount, the goal will be marked as “completed” or “goal reached”. The funds will remain in the goal unless you choose to move them elsewhere. At this point, you can leave the funds in the goal for safekeeping, transfer the funds to your checking account or general savings, or start a new goal with a different target.
If I want to change the account I am currently using for savings, am I able to do that?
Can I move funds between multiple goals, or is it restricted to one?
They can have multiple goals as there is no limit, and the user is able to move money between the goals. Customers can have as many recurring transfers as they want and if they have multiple checking accounts, they are also able to set up multiple roundups.
How do I turn off my round-ups?
In the goal, select the carrot next to the round-up that is currently set up. From there you can either pause or turn off the round-ups.
