Bravera Bank
JP Feland, compliance manager at Bravera, has been named one of the Bismarck Mandan Chamber EDC’s 2025 20 Under 40 recipients. The annual award recognizes professionals under the age of 40 who are making a lasting impact through leadership, innovation and community involvement. Honorees represent the future of Bismarck-Mandan’s business and nonprofit communities.
A graduate of the University of North Dakota with a degree in banking and financial economics, Feland returned to his hometown to begin a career in banking—a field he says continues to challenge and inspire him. He’s driven by pride in his work and the belief that “what I do makes a difference” to his bank, his colleagues and the people they serve.
Feland’s passion for compliance is fueled by a steady desire to learn and grow. While he admits he prefers when things go according to plan, he’s learned to adapt to the unpredictable nature of the industry by shifting priorities and focusing on what he can control. That mindset, he says, has helped him build resilience both professionally and personally.
Outside of work, Feland enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife and two daughters—especially on the river during North Dakota summers. Whether at home or on the job, he values growth, resilience and being present for the people who matter most.
When asked what advice he’d offer other young professionals in Bismarck-Mandan, Feland said: “Step outside of your comfort zone. Say yes to opportunities and don’t wait until you are 100% ready. Be reliable. If you say you are going to do something, do it. This builds trust and sets you apart. Take initiative and find ways to add value.”
