Bravera Bank

Intern Spotlight: Alexis Ternes

Bravera welcomed Alexis Ternes as an Intern with Bravera Wealth this past summer and she has continued to work part-time in Wealth, while still working at Bravera Bank and attending classes at UMary. She has been working closely with Renae Kondos as her Internship Mentor.

What made you interested in an Internship with Bravera?
I have been with Bravera for about 2-1/2 years and I absolutely love working for this company. I feel like a valued employee who is seen and appreciated within my career, and that is not something you will find very often. I also really appreciated how Bravera structured my internship around my personal interests and desires. There are so many opportunities to pursue because employees are always encouraged to grow themselves both personally and professionally.

What was your favorite part of your internship?
I was fortunate enough to be able to shadow many different departments with a focus on Wealth, specifically the 401(k) department. My favorite part about my internship was definitely the people I worked with on a day-to-day basis. I also really enjoyed the opportunity to go out into the community for networking events and even just to meet with our different clients. I loved applying all the tools I have been learning throughout my educational journey to real life situations and scenarios. Topics you cover in Retirement Planning Class actually do apply to real life!

How has having an internship with Bravera impacted your current job?
I am so grateful I currently have been able to continue some of the tasks and projects I was working on throughout my internship with Wealth. I also have a better understanding of how our Wealth department functions and what opportunities that department offers to all our customers across the board. I have learned that there is always a product or service we can offer to our customers, along with the convenience of staying with one singular company. I also met a lot of Bravera employees who I can contact or reach out to if I am in need of any help.
